Summary: The U.S. Mission in Kathmandu, Nepal is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Visa Assistant (Non-Immigrant Visa). This position is open to all interested applicants.
The work schedule for this position is Full Time (40 hours per week).
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties
The incumbent performs a wide range of consular duties associated with delivering nonimmigrant visa (NIV) services, in accordance with the NIV unit's standard operating procedures and established visa processing guidelines. The incumbent communicates with internal and external customers and is responsible for proper handling of controlled items and information. The incumbent performs back-up duties to assist other work units within the consular section.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements: EXPERIENCE: Minimum two years of experience involving the application of regulations and law, extensive public contact, customer service, or problem-solving experience is required.
Education Requirements: Completion of two years of college level studies is required.
Evaluations: These may be tested (Language, Skills and Abilities):
LANGUAGE: Level III (Good Working Knowledge) speaking/reading/writing English is required. Level IV (Fluent) speaking/reading/writing Nepali is required.
