Position: Team Leader

No. of Vacancy: 1

Job Duration: 18 Months

Job Location: Province 1 (Location will be determined later) with frequent travel (at least 50%) to project sites.

Salary: Merit Based

Key Roles, Qualifications,and Experience

• A master degree in economics, sociology, political science,law, development studies, rural and regional development or a related field with a minimum of 7 to 10 years’ experience including in the field outside of Kathmandu.
• Extensive knowledge on Nepal’s recent federalization and decentralization process.
• S/he should be familiar about contemporary issues in regard to local government capacity, functioning in the changed context, practical experience of leading the project and experiences regarding the capacity building trainings of the local level governments including quality control and monitoring systems
• Experience/knowledge in working in diverse fields such as; governance, participatory planning/budgeting methods, technical & vocational education/training, rural infrastructure, migration, agriculture, formulation of laws & bylaws, sectoral committees, GESI.
• The candidate must also demonstrate proven project/program management experience, as well as dealing with diverse teams of governmental and non-governmental professionals.
• Fluency in written and spoken English is a must, as well as the ability to draft concise reports.
• S/he needs good communication skills and excellent computer skills.
• The task of the team leader will require frequent field visits to the participating local level governments with very basic amenities and therefore the candidate should be physically fit and able/willing to undertake such field visits on a regular basis.
