Job Description

The American Embassy in Kathmandu is seeking an individual for the position of Surveillance Detection (SD) Data Technician.

POSITION: Surveillance Detection (SD) Data Technician
OPENING DATE: December 4, 2015
CLOSING DATE: December18, 2015
WORK HOURS: Full-time; 48 hours/week
SALARY: Rs.608,473 p.a.

Ordinarily Resident (OR): FSN-5
US $27,982 p.a.

Not-Ordinarily Resident (NOR): FP-9*

*Final grade/step for NORs will be determined by Washington.

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION
The Surveillance Detection (SD) Data Technician collects, analyzes and compiles all SD reports received from SD team members in a standard format. The incumbent translates reports into English and prepares appropriate reports for the Regional Security Officer’s review; the incumbent also maintains SD database and files.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

1. EDUCATION: Successful completion of Secondary School is required.
2. EXPERIENCE: At least 2 years of experience in military, police or any security field is required.
3. LANGUAGE: Level IV (Fluent) speaking/reading/writing English is required. Level IV (Fluent) speaking/reading Nepali is required. English language ability will be tested.
4. JOB KNOWLEDGE: Working knowledge of security procedures, techniques
and local police structure is required.
5. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: General computer skills to include MS Word, MSExcel and MS Outlook are required. The ability to write incident reports i  clear English is required.
