UNESCO Kathmandu Office is working closely with Nepal's Department of Archaeology (DoA) for the recovery and rehabilitation of earthquake-damaged monuments and historical buildings. In this context, UNESCO is looking for a structural engineer to engage in the design of repair and retrofit solutions for monuments and historical buildings in Nepal. The selected engineer will be trained on the methodology for damage assessment and the design of retrofit proposals based on Finite Element (FE) analysis.

Condition of Employment : Full-time based in UNESCO Kathmandu Office
Type of Contract : Consultant Contract
Contract duration : Six months with initial 2 months' probation period

The incumbent shall work under the overall authority of the Head of the UNESCO Office in Kathmandu and UNESCO Representative to Nepal, and direct supervision of Responsible Officer, Culture Unit.
