Job Title: Senior Resource Development Specialist
Position Reports To: Resource Development Advisor
Position Location: National Office, with frequent travel to field
Position Purpose
The purpose of the position is to help deliver grant acquisition targets of WV Nepal in regards to Institutional Donors including bilateral and multilateral donors, trusts and foundations.
The position helps in achieving high winning rates of proposals and bidding.
The position contributes to the implementation of the Resource Development Strategy to increase and diversify funding base as outlined in the program strategy of WV Nepal.
Key Objectives of the Position
Lead the assessment, design, write up, coordination and submission of concept notes and proposals according to the guidelines of donors, World Vision, and consortium partners.
Conduct regular screening of grant opportunities and help to evaluate its fit with WV Nepal programs including go no go decision process.
Develop and help disseminate communication products on WV Nepal capabilities and program results for donor engagement, partnering and proposals.
Lead information analysis to support internal and external coordination in regards to grants and private funding - Act as an information analyst of grant opportunities and relevant sector information against the funding plans and targets for the period.
Identify needs and funding gaps in WVIN’s programming.
Coordinate with the cross-functional team and cross organizational teams for proposal development (technical, finance, supply chain, public engagement, Operations, P & C), and program and field assessment for proposals (data collection and analysis).
Education
Bachelor Degree in a relevant field such as development studies/International relations/ English/ Social Sciences will be essential
Masters degree in relevant field is preferred
Required Knowledge & Skills
Strong knowledge of donor trends and latest development methodologies (including EU, DFID, USAID, NORAD, DFAT, GAC etc.)
Strong knowledge and understanding of development issues
Strong knowledge and understanding of humanitarian industry and donors (including ECHO, AHP etc.), including how INGOs operate in the global and local contexts
Strong conceptual and practical skill and proven track record of writing winning concepts and proposals
Skills in project design, log frame and budget preparation, evaluation and report writing
Strong capacity building ,facilitation and training skills
Excellent command in English, both written and verbal is essential
Decision making and conflict resolution skills will be desirable
Skills of coordinating cross functional and cross organizational teams is essential
Competent in using MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint presentation is required
Ability to work under stressful condition and adaptive to local culture and situation will be essential
Experience
Proven track record of leading and wining grants from key donors, including EU, DFID, USAID, NORAD, DFAT, GAC etc. is required
Track record of working for INGOs/National NGOs/UN Agencies would be essential
Experience of working in a cross-cultural environment – preferably in South Asian context
Work Environment
Must be willing and able to travel nationally about 12 weeks per annum.
