Position: Social Worker (1) based in Gorkha District Hospital, Gorkha; reporting to Project Coordinator having contract till December 31, 2017 with strong possibility of extension.
Position Summary:
She/he will be responsible for providing psychological, medical social services and protection of rights of people with disability to prevent mortality, morbidity and disability through quality management and physical rehabilitation interventions.
Job Description:
• Support for social protection and rights promotion from harmonious relationship among patients, care takers, family members, clinical professionals, physiotherapist, hospital administration, public/private social service providers
• Keep linkages with concerned stakeholders (DDCs, VDCs, DHOs, DPHOS, Hospital Development Committees, Health Facility Management and operation Committees, Private agencies) for disability card and other provision as appropriate
• Support physiotherapist for identifying, assessing and providing rehabilitation sessions to needy people with functional impairment and disability
Job Specification:
• At least Intermediate level qualification in sooal sciences or any field with proven experience in social work, preferably in emergency response
• Paramedics or nursing background having knowledge in Psychosocial, social protection and Community Based Rehabilitation
