Job Summary: The engineer is responsible for overall technical engineering works including technical coordination with different stakeholders at district, rural municipalities and wards. She/he should take overall responsibilities of survey, design and estimates of schemes and implement engineering works in the field in field support of IP’s sub-engineers and in managerial support from project manager and SLD coordinator.

Provide reports on weekly and monthly basis to technical coordinator
Detail Responsibilities
-
Identify the engineering schemes in coordination with UC’s, rural municipalities and ward representatives and conduct technical assessments in coordination with field supervisor’s such as rural road (rural road and foot trail), irrigation system (canal and pond) and other related small infrastructures.

Design, estimate and preparation of drawings of the infrastructures to be developed under CFA.

Coordinate with government stakeholders to proceed with most effective intervention for LWF.

Ensure beneficiaries are consulted and their views taken into account at all stages of the program.

Ensure infrastructures are constructed with government approved guidelines and standards.
-
Work closely with project team to orient and facilitate at community level.
-
Provide continuous feedback to project manager regarding construction works.
-
Provide quality supervision and support to field level technical staff.
-
Ensure measurement books are kept updated
-
Maintain documentation and prepare weekly, monthly reports and submit to project manager within time frame.

Prepare technical reports and submit to project manager including eSPR
-
Prepare work completion report of technical works
-
Conduct regular monitoring at different crucial phase of construction and ensure the construction work is done in line with approved design, BoQ and Specifications

Other duties:
-
Ensure compliances of LWF Nepal policies, child protection policy and code of conduct while implementing project activities
-
Contribute to strengthen accountability in LWF Nepal.

Contribute to strengthen gender and social inclusion in LWF Nepal
-
Maintain impartiality from party political influence
-
Carry out other tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Internal:

Sustainable Livelihood Development Coordinator, livelihood section, technical coordinator, Logistics, Finance, Administration.
External:

WFP, Relevant government departments, Sector/cluster, district partner organizations, CBOs other NGO and respective cluster.

Required Qualification, skills and competencies:
-
Bachelors’ Degree in Civil Engineering with minimum 5 years of professional experience on construction of infrastructure in humanitarian setting.
-
Experience in design, cost estimate, site supervision construction projects
-
Sound knowledge on documentation of quality project reports
-
Sound knowledge in construction of infrastructure related works
-
Skills on networking and coordination with the relevant stakeholders
-
Proficiency in written and spoken English
-
High level of organizational integrity and loyalty and drive for results.
