Job Description

The position holder is responsible for the oversight, technical direction, communication matters and implementation of SBC activities-based on baseline survey, theory of change, SABAL SBC strategy and work plans.

  • Provide strategic leadership for a project-wide SBC strategy aimed at generating demand for SABAL program interventions and increasing adoption of priority household and community practices in health, nutrition, agriculture, livelihood and resilience-related behaviors.
  • Roll-out SBC strategy and tools to the relevant partners, staff and district based organizations. Provide technical guidance and oversight in designing relevant materials including posters, flyers, kits, radio programs, videos and digital tools and apps, etc;
  • Provide technical assistance to the partners in designing, implementing and evaluating behavior change initiatives, focused on the consortium priorities, to reach socially excluded groups and individuals, as well as the poor and vulnerable households with pregnant and lactating women and children under 5 years of age;
  • Design and lead additional formative research, as needed, to identify motivators and barriers to changing priority behaviors or practices.
  • Promote and support dissemination of best practices for SBC among partners, stakeholders and district based organizations;

REQUIRED :

  • Master degree in public health, health communications or related area
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience successfully implementing and managing community-level SBC programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing sound behavior change plans that include innovative strategies.
  • Experience in conducting formative research and monitoring quality of SBC activities.
  • Willing to travel remote areas as and when required.
