Job Description

Under the overall supervision of the National Project Coordinator, the Provincial Technical Officer (PTO) will report directly to the Provincial Coordinator and be responsible for supporting implementation of the project in respective provinces. The Provincial Technical Officers PTO will work with the entire provincial team and assist the Provincial Coordinator in coordinating with the municipalities.

Position: Provincial Technical Officer Level : NPSA 7

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Maintain effective coordination at Provincial or local level as well as within the project components:

  2. Support effective management of project for timely delivery of quality outputs:

  3. Provide technical support to the project team to achieve project outputs:

  4. Support the Monitoring, Preparation of reports and documents, Communication/ Knowledge Management and Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI):

 

Job Specification

Education:

  • Masters Degree ór Bachelors degree in  Engineering, Disaster Management, Planning, Housing and any other related Social science fields.

Experience:

  • For Masters’ degree at least 2 years and for Bachelors’ degree at least 5 years of relevant experience in implementation, monitoring and evaluation of projects related to building construction, land use planning or related field. 

  • Experience of working with or exposure to community planning process.

  • Demonstrated technical skills in safer construction and disaster risk management/preparedness.

  • Demonstrated social skill of coordinating with different stakeholders and facilitating discussions,

  • Excellent skills on preparing quality reports and other knowledge products

  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.). 

  • Experience of working in new federal context with the provincial and the local government

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in English and Nepali at professional level are essential.

Other:

  • Ability to drive motorbike in hilly terrains and possess valid driving license will be desirable
