Project Officer (based in Makwanpur)
Key responsibilities:
The incumbent is mainly responsible to ensure successful integration and mainstreaming of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) activities in schools and belonging communities and integrate DRR into sectoral planning processes at VDC and district level. S/he will ensure technical support to retrofit and construction of earthquake resilient school building and also facilitation, working closely with the other district stakeholder, School Management Committee, Parent teacher association, Child club, Junior Red Cross, networks, CBO/SDMC/CDMC and community members ensuring achievement of objectives in timely and cost effective manner. S/he is primarily responsible to plan, implement, monitor and evaluate the overall School Based Disaster Preparedness interventions in close coordination and consultation with Munich SBDP Manager, VISTAR Consortium Manager, DRR Coordinator and other CARE Projects.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, Forestry, Agriculture, Climate Change, Disaster Management, or any relevant subjects from a recognized university (civil engineering and DRR background is preferred). 3 years of practical experience in environment, Community based DRR or School Based DRR sectors. Facilitation and experienced in Education in Emergency would be added value.
