Gross Salary: NRs. 1,443,000/annum – NRs. 1,534,000/annum (commensurate upon qualification and experience)
Background:
Good Neighbors International (GNI) is an international, non-profit humanitarian organization established in 1991 and working in 37 countries around the world. It is headquartered in South Korea. GNI has fundraising offices in the USA, Korea, and Japan, and an International Cooperation Office in Geneva. GNI currently implements 318 community development projects (CDPs), covering a variety of areas including rural development, income generation, health, water, sanitation and hygiene, child education, protection, disaster risk reduction as well as advocacy and network building to improve the impact of the projects, thereby benefitting approximately 16.8 million people, including 9.6 million children. Good Neighbors International is working in Nepal since 2002 in community development sector.
Health System Recovery Project is a 3-year project funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and implemented by Good Neighbors International (GNI) Nepal jointly with GIZ and UNDP in close coordination and cooperation with District Public Health Office (DPHO), Nuwakot. Health System Recovery Project offers an integrated approach that simultaneously addresses the challenges of health posts completely destroyed after earthquake. The project aims to support health posts and district hospital with full services as per government protocol. It also aims to strengthen governmental health structure and function at the community level. The overall goal of project is to improve health service utilization of people in ten VDCs (Charghare, Belkot, Duipipal, Ratmate, Ghyanfedi, Likhu, Okharpauwa, Suryamati, Panchakanya and Thaprek) of Nuwakot District through availability of health services at health facility as well as increase awareness of community people to seek health services. The project also aims to improve status of Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) and menstrual hygiene among the adolescent especially girls and psychosocial status of children.
The Project Manager will be working based in Bidur, Nuwakot District with frequent travels to the working VDCs. As a Project Manager, s/he will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing the project. S/he takes a very active role in coordination with local community and district level stakeholders.
Job Description:
1. Planning, Management and Implementation
Develop standard information package on ASRH
Develop contents for training and orientation on ASRH
Initiate peer-counselling activities in schools/ clubs/ mother’s group to raise awareness on ASRH
 Psychosocial Support (PSS)
 Support medical equipment
ï‚· Develop guideline for sustainable use of supported equipment and furniture
2. Supervision and Monitoring
ï‚· Monitor target versus achievement on monthly basis
ï‚· Conduct field assessment and map available resources in communities and develop indicators
ï‚· Develop reporting format and system in consultation with M&E Department at Head Office.
ï‚· Submit monthly report to the concerned staff.
ï‚· Design and facilitate assessment and survey, if needed
ï‚· Compile activities and achievement of other partner organizations and reportmonthly
ï‚· Document experiences, lessons learnt, best practices and replicable strategies/ approaches and support in knowledge management
3. Administration and Finance
ï‚· Manage staffs leave and attendance, and overall administrative tasks in office
ï‚· Manage official furniture and vehicles
ï‚· Be accountable for project funds, overseeing the preparation and monitoring of budgets, cash flow management, and be responsible for the completion of donor financial reporting
ï‚· Maintain overview of all project expenditures and consolidate the financial report in cooperation with finance officer
4. Management of Human Resource in Project Team
ï‚· Facilitate project staff to develop activity plan and guidelines to accomplish activities under the project.
ï‚· Identify the skill gap and build capacity of staff for effective implementation of project.
ï‚· Regular meeting with Staffs
5. Coordinate and Develop Relations among Partner Organizations
ï‚· Coordinate with partner organizations – GIZ, UNDP, KOICA- for relevant activities
ï‚· Coordinate with key human resources in the project such as , health workforce in Health Posts and District Hospital as well as Female Community Health Workers.
ï‚· Coordinate with district level line agencies and different stakeholders for undertaking the planned activities and up scaling the intervention.
ï‚· Represent GNI in health cluster meeting at district level.
6. General
ï‚· Conduct field visit as per the requirement.
ï‚· Organize various events such as meeting, workshop, conferences and seminar.
ï‚· Carry out other duties and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
Required Skill and Experiences:
ï‚· Master degree in public health or relevant field
ï‚· At least five year experience working in INGO/NGO in community health or International Development projects related to education and advocacy
ï‚· In depth knowledge of strategy development in Maternal and child health, Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health, Psychosocial Support
ï‚· Proven ability to conceptualize, plan and manage programs as well as transfer knowledge and skills
ï‚· Fluent in writing and speaking English and Nepali
ï‚· Good coordination and network building skills
ï‚· Flexible to work under pressure
ï‚· Able to take a lead and work in a team to achieve a goal as a plan
ï‚· Good knowledge and skills on Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT and etc)
