Practical Action is an INGO which aims to reduce poverty through wider use of appropriate technologies in developing countries. It works in more than 45 countries through its offices in Bangladesh, Bolivia, India, Kenya, Nepal, Peru, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Sudan and Zimbabwe. Practical Action seeks to recruit a Project Manager to work with the Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Programme team.
Minimum qualification required is Master’s Degree in Disaster Management/Climate Change/Development Studies/or Social Sciences with at least five years of work experience in related field. Proven experience in management and coordination of multi-country and multi-disciplinary projects, in project finance, human resources and technical activities and working with multi-stakeholders, multi-country institutions and with government organisations is required.

The incumbent will work under the Zurich funded Global Flood Resilience Project and report to the Head of Programme. S/he shall deliver and manage project strategies and activities stated in the project document and are responsible mainly in the development and articulation of Practical Action’s DRR programme. This position requires 25% of time involvement in leading, coordinating and influencing South Asia regional policies and practices in DRR.
