CARE Nepal is an international humanitarian organization working in the country for the past 39 years. It currently works in 60 districts through various programs on issues relating to improving the lives of the poorest and most vulnerable populations through programs that work on the following themes: food security and climate change; emergency preparedness and DRR; migration and urbanization; sexual reproductive and maternal health; gender based violence; women and girls’ leadership. Marginalized Women and Adolescent Girls are our two primary impact groups. Core priorities include investment in the empowerment and leadership of women and girls, reaching hard to reach population, good governance and accountability, working in partnership and alliance with like-minded actors, and evidence-based advocacy.
CARE Nepal hereby invites applications from interested Nepalese candidates, preferably from the Far Western region, for an Integrated Education, Health and Nutrition project ‘Awasar’ targeted at hard to reach children especially in the upper belt of mountain districts (Bajura and Mugu) to improve their nutritional and educational status. This project is designed to address the basic education and nutritional requirement among the school going children and their families living in harsh climatic conditions in the upper part of the project districts. The project also intends to equip the local organisations with the skills to manage their own groups/organisations, resource identification and mobilisation for sustainable education models, model behaviour for hygiene & sanitation, and food habits and consumption practices in the communities.
Project Manager (based in Gamgadi, Mugu)
Key responsibilities:
The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for overall planning, implementing, monitoring, and reporting for the project. S/he will oversee the project’s overall operation, work with NGO partners, and supervise the project team (stationed in Mugu and Bajura districts), ensure capacity building of the project team including NGO partners; carry out monitoring and supervision of activities at district and VDC levels; submit program and financial reports to the donor.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Master degree in education or agriculture or relevant social sciences and at least 5 years of experience in related sectors.
