CARE Nepal hereby invites applications from interested candidates for the following full time position for a 6-year civil society support project on food security (the Right to Food) with support from CARE Denmark that started in 2013.
1. Project Manager (Based in Kathmandu)
Key responsibilities:
The Project Manager is responsible for managing the project and supervising a team of CARE staff with responsibilities in monitoring, evaluation, partner capacity building and advocacy. The PM will have the overall responsibility for providing strategic support and guidance to the team of CARE and partner staff in the areas of civil society mobilization, evidence based advocacy and organizational strengthening, learning, and fostering linkages at the local, national and international level on the right to food issue. Through regular oversight and facilitation he/she will ensure adherence to project principles and approaches and oversee the institutional capacity building and improved governance of strategic partners at different levels. S/he is responsible for overall project planning (including annual work plans and budgets), budget management, donor reporting, coordination with strategic partners, linkages across civil society and monitoring of the project at local and national levels.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Master’s Degree in Natural Resource Management, Agriculture or a relevant field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in staff management and management of projects involving multiple partners or stakeholders. Knowledge of existing policies related to agriculture, natural resource management and food security in Nepal is an advantage
