Job Description

Helen Keller International (HKI) /Nepal, an International non-profit organization (INGO) works to improve the sight and lives of the vulnerable by combatting the causes and consequences of blindness, poor health and malnutrition through public health approaches, building the capacity of organizations, and contributing to policy changes through systems strengthening and operations research. HKI/Nepal’s nutrition is the largest portfolio.

HKI/Nepal is currently seeking applications from qualified, experienced and self-motivated candidates for the following Banke based positions

Project Manager:  Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) Management-1

Description

  • Overall responsible for the implementation of the ROP project in Banke.
  • Collaborate with the implementing partner hospitals, governmental and non -governmental organizations, eye hospitals and other partners /stakeholders 
  •  Develop the ROP project implementation workplan and a monitoring and evaluation plan.
  • Assist with launching the ROP inception program and related orientations  in Banke.
  • Assist to plan and roll out the Master Training of Trainers (MTOT) for partner hospitals.
  • Submit regular updates, monthly reports, field reports, workshop and training report

Requirement for the role

Educational Degree:

· Master’s in medicine in a related field (ophthalmology, pediatrics, etc.).

Experiences years:

  • Minimum of  2/3 years’ experience in any of the related medical areas.   
  • Technical knowledge in areas related to NICU, new-born and infant care.

Communication Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and confident to effectively interact and communicate with government, academia, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability  to write/produce program and technical reports.

Data Liaison: Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP)-1

Description

  • Maintain a logbook for each screening site, all babies meeting the criteria for ROP on a daily basis.
  • Assist each site to enter, update and complete the data sheets on each of the neonates requiring screening.
  • Assist the hospital ROP team to ensure data regarding follow up calls and visits of the new born is gathered and entered accurately. 
  • Work with the Project Manager and the hospital ROP focal persons to ensure data sheets are completed on a weekly basis.
  • Support in conducting baseline and end line surveys.
  • Support in ROP induction, trainings and monitoring activities.

Requirement for the role

Educational Degree:

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, information technology, data management and/or in related field

Communication skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and confident to effectively interact and communicate with hospitals, government, academia, and other stakeholders.           
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with both external and internal contacts.
  •  Experience in working with government district offices and  INGOs.
