Practical Action has an exciting opportunity for a ‘Project Manager’ to work under Climate Change and Fragility project based in Nepalgunj. Reporting to the Head of Programme Delivery, the position will be accountable for leading the planning and delivery of the project; S/he shall coordinate for effective and sustainable project strategies/ approaches and implementation of activities as well as ensure coherence and effectiveness in influencing so as to contribute to the organization’s Strategic Business Plan and the Change Ambitions. S/he shall be overall in-charge of the Climate Change and Fragility (CCF) Project in Nepal.

In our current strategic business plan, we expect to focus on Disaster Risk Reduction and Energy in both, Nepal and India, Agriculture in Nepal and WASH in India. Across all our work, we aim to achieve impact at scale using our Framework for Change. This involves an in-depth analysis of the nature, scale and source of the challenge, defining the change we want to bring about in the system and in people’s lives and using our three pathways to demonstrate what works, learn and use knowledge and evidence to inspire others to adopt similar approaches. Technology is at the core of what we do with a focus on climate change and digital technology. We pay special attention to gender across all our work.
The Project Manager will provide support in management and administration across all five core areas of the strategy directly or indirectly:
The Project Manager of Climate Change Fragility (CCF) plays a management role and is accountable for leading on planning and delivery of the project. The Project Manager is overall in-charge of the Climate Change Fragility (CCF) Project in Nepal. S/he oversees and coordinates for effective and sustainable project strategies/ approaches and implementation of activities accordingly. S/he ensures coherence and effectiveness in influencing so as to contribute to the organization’s Strategic Business Plan and the Change Ambitions.
The CCF project focuses on comprehensive and cross-sectoral responses to tackle the destabilizing effects of climate change. Developing and testing practical approaches to address climate fragility risk will be one of key priorities. The project’s overall objective is to improve the resilience of communities to climate-fragility risk by strengthening inclusion and relationships, local government’s capacities and planning processes, and sustainable livelihoods.
