About the role
The overall objective of the Project Coordinator is to support WaterAid Nepal’s work on Trans-boundary Water Security Project funded by The Asia Foundation with key focus on 3 major output areas of Research, Community-based Water Resource Management and Influencing. This includes but is not limited to research work (including action research), liaising with implementing partners and taking lead in the facilitation during interactions and workshops, report writing and documentation. This is part of a South Asia Regional Initiative on Trans-boundary Water Security.
Scope of Assignment
Engage in the project management including financial and partnership management Coordinate and collaborate for project implementation, monitoring and evaluation
Ensure systemic research and studies (especially action research) and support partners as required
Ensure quality reporting through verification and analysis of data and information
Ensure systemic organization and facilitation of various events at local, district and national level
Liaise for effective communication among communities, partners, expert groups, government and other stakeholders
Represent WaterAid Nepal in related platforms, events and forums
Ensure knowledge management through documentation, sharing and communication Ensure project requirements and compliances during all phases of project cycle
Support partners in capacity building and timely delivery of project results Extensive travel to the project site
Person Specification
Graduate in social science, development studies, civil engineering or other relevant subjects preferably with specialization on water resources management;
Good understanding of water security and climate change contexts in Nepal
A minimum of three years of work experience in qualitative, quantitative, participatory and action research, monitoring and evaluation
Excellent facilitation skills required at the community, VDC, district and national level consultations
Proven knowledge on project management cycle, more specifically logical-framework Approach (LFA) to design, monitor and evaluate the outcomes
Familiarity with local contexts, ability to work with multi-cultural and social groups distributed in various geographical settings
Experience of partner management and working with, supporting and building capacity of local organizations
Fluency in spoken and written Nepali and English language IT literate (word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation) Good interpersonal skills
Self-motivation, creativity and an ability to perform without close supervision Able to commit to WaterAid’s values and policies.
