Position Title: Programme Associate (Social and Behaviour Change Communication)

Organizational Context
The Programme Associate will be a member of the WFP nutrition team and is expected to work closely with other programme unities including the Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) team.
At this level, job holders are expected to demonstrate responsibility and initiative to respond independently to various queries with only general guidance. There is a requirement to use judgment in dealing with unforeseen operational problems on a daily basis. Job holders are expected to manage resources and coach and coordinate support staff.
Job Purpose
To spreadhead WFP’s Social and Behaviour Change Communications (SBCC) interventions, with particular emphasis of integrating SBCC components at each stage of the design, implementation, and monitoring and evaluations of the relevant WFP development and humanitarian programmes in Nepal. To provide effective specialized support and technical analyses to policy and programme activities that effectively meet food assistance needs.
Key Accountabilities (not all-inclusive)
Under the overall guidance of the Head of Nutrition, and direct supervision of the National Nutrition Officer and matrix relationship with heads of other functional units, the job holder will carry out the following tasks;
Standard Minimum Qualifications
Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Behavioural Science, Social Science, Public Health or related fields and relevant on the job training related to SBCC will be a plus.
Language: Fluency in both written and spoken English and Nepali languages. Nepali Typing skill is an asset. Knowledge of local languages is a mandatory.
