Program Director – Nepal
The Director will be responsible for overseeing every aspect of Namlo’s programs in Nepal, including development, relief and reconstruction activities. Namlo builds sustainable communities in developing countries by making use of a broad range of development initiatives including education, economic development, women’s empowerment, and infrastructure improvement. The ideal candidate should have a personal philosophy and experience that defines sustainability in practical terms, as well as having an affinity for grass-roots, bottom-up development that place communities in a leadership position. The candidate will be responsible for the following:
Qualification and experience
The candidate must possess a Masters degree in international development, rural sociology, community development, or related field with minimum seven years of job experience in managing development programs. Must possess superior language abilities (both written and oral) in English, and Nepali with other language skill pertinent to the operational areas of Namlo a major plus. Technical skills would include computer literacy and MS Office Suite (esp. Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc), Google Plus, SPSS, CRM and other financial and project management software.
The ideal candidate should have significant leadership experience in a similarly sized ngo, with experience in building management systems, securing resources (including grant-writing & fundraising), conducting baseline surveys, managing staff, and working with a local board. The Program Director will report directly to the Namlo International Executive Director, and work with the local Namlo Nepal board to establish local policies and fundraising initiatives.
