Job Description

  • Plan and organize production schedules and oversee production process.
  • Manage and evaluate machine resources to ensure productivity and minimal downtime.
  • Oversee a workforce of more than 500 employees.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are met.
  • Work with production team to develop and track against a production plan reflective of the defined project goals as set by the management.
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, clarify project priorities, identify risks and escalate issues that cannot be internally resolved.
  • Clearly define all workflows, communicate documented processes and ensure all practices are being refined and tuned with learnings.
  • Provide regular status reports and capacity plan updates with the team and the management.
  • Identify the best tools and technologies to help manage workflow and optimizes their implementation and deployment.
  • Identify processes that can improve project efficiency and act as a change agent for them.
  • Collate and analyse data, putting together production reports for both factory managers and management.
  • Improve efficiency, productivity and optimize costs.
  • Ensure production targets are achieved/exceeded without compromising quality standards.

Job Specification

  • Postgraduate degree with a minimum Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Production Engineering, Food Technology or other relevant field.
  • At least 10 years of operational and/or related engineering experience
  • Previous experience in an alcohol distillery brewery as a process engineer/brew master or in an equivalent role is preferred.
  • Previous applied experience in management and control of fermentation/distillation systems is essential.
  • Senior level exposure to the alco-beverage industry with international brands would be an added advantage.
  • Strong multi-tasking, troubleshooting, organizational and analytical skills.
  • A stable career history with a demonstrable track record of success.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong training and coaching skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
