At least five years relevant experience in similar role in journalism, public relations or INGOs at national environment.
Developed understanding of national political and human rights trends and specifically major political and human rights issues in Nepal.
Strong knowledge of regional and national media, with established contacts at key publications and broadcast outlets.
Sound understanding of media relations management including updating and maintaining relationships with media contacts.
Detailed knowledge of current and emerging media trends and developments and impact on securing organizational priorities on news agendas.
Knowledge of Amnesty International and interest in, and personal commitment to, the full range of human rights.
Skills
Strong verbal and written English and Nepali communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Ability to exercise sound judgment, combined with the experience to develop successful media strategies and campaigns.
Ability to work in high pressured environment while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
Fluency in written and spoken English. Fluency in a local languages is an advantage.
Ability to translate from English to Nepal and vice versa
