The Gurkha Welfare Scheme (GWS) invites application from suitably qualified applicants for the post of Pharmacy Services Manager. This post will be based in Pokhara but from time to time you will be required to visit suppliers and AWCs across Nepal.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
The successful applicant must be qualified and licensed as a pharmacist in Nepal and should have obtained at least a Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy. preferably a Masters.
REQUIRED BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE
Should have extensive experience of managing a large hospital or commercial pharmacy, especially with experience of quality assurance and proven abilities to audit suppliers. Be able to identify and implement the best practices and methods of storage and distribution of medicines. Expenence of interacting with clinicians on a regular basis to maintain evidence based decisions on the correct use of medications and producing relevant formularies. Must be familiar with Nepal DDA policies and the registration list of recognised suppliers.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful applicant will be responsible to comprehensively oversee the procurement and management of a primary care formulary and ensure medication supply to the 21 centres around Nepal that the GWS run. This will include:
Auditing and identification of high quality suppliers. Managing and improving the distribution of medications especially as regards safety and environment control. Managing the formulary alongside the clinicians. Managing the stock control and re ordering of medications to maximise efficiency.
Monitoring the management and use of the medications in all the centres and helping to develop best practices for GWS in terms of dispensing and pharmacy practice.
REMUNERATION
Competitive Salary with Provident Fund. One month pay as Dashain Bonus and medical cover as per GWS Staff Regulations.
The job is offered for 2 years initially and may be extended to one year. The interview will be conducted in English.
