Job Description

Organization profile:

Independent Living Centre (ILC)-Lalitpur is a Disabled Persons’ Organisation (DPO) founded in 2010 by Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) to support PWDs considering that disabilities should not prevent people from being actively involved in daily living, decision-making, and to involve in policies and programs which directly concern issues of PWDs.

ILC Lalitpur in partnership with PHASE Nepal is implementing USAID supported project “USAID’s Strengthening and Spreading the Independent Living concept in Nepal Activity”.

DELIVERABLE GOALS: MAIN TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Cooperating with and Support to PWDs for mobility and day to day activities such as feeding, bathing, dressing, toileting, lifting and moving and administering medications etc.
• Support Project manager and DPO coordinator.

• Transfer to and from wheelchair and bed and other individual duties as per need.
• Support people at home, at work or when they are out and about.

• Support in office related other work as directed by Project Manager.
• In addition to above listed responsibilities, other tasks as directed by the concerned authorities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/REQUIRED PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

• Must be self-motivated individuals with willingness to support PWDs.
• Must be able to ride bicycle and bike.
• Must be polite, energetic and hardworking.
• Prior experience working at ILCL preferred but not necessary.
• Patience and ability to deal with difficult circumstances.
• Willing to work off hours as and when required.
• Willingness to learn and perform personal tasks for individuals with disabilities. Dependability, flexibility, and sensitivity required.

Qualification and experience:

• At least grade 8 completed, preferably high school level (SEE) exam passed
• Willingness to work as Personal assistant.
• Similar experience desirable but not compulsory

Benefits:

Gross salary includes Provident Fund, Gratuity and Festival Allowances. We also offer Medical Insurance of Rs. 2,25,000/- that covers employee and his/her dependent family members up to three, and GPA Insurance of Rs. 2,000,000/-.
