The Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Centre (SIRC- A Project of Spinal Sangh Nepal), also known as”Spinal Kendra”, is the non-profit charitable organization. It was inaugurated in April, 2002 by the late Sir Edmund Hillary, at Jorpati, Kathmandu, Nepal. It shifted to its current custom-built facility at Saanga village, Kavre District, in November 2008. Over nearly a decade of work, the Spinal Centre has developed a range of facilities to support the spinal injured people of Nepal, who come from the most marginalized bracket of society. The Centre offers holistic rehabilitation services to spinal cord injured patients so that they are able to rebuild their lives within the limits of their ability when they go back to the society.
We are hiring Peer Counselor who will act as a role model to Spinal Cord Injury Patients.
Job Title: Peer Counselor
Working Hour: 9 AM to 4 PM; 6 days a week; alternative Sunday off
Salary: Negotiable

Job Responsibilities
i. Work as a role model among the patient
ii. Conduct grooming sessions to the current patients
iii. Maintain daily progress note on patients problems and feedback
iv. Conduct patient group physical exercise
v. Assist and participate in outing program once
vi. Assist and participate in games program twice
vii.Assist and participate in different therapy like music and Yoga therapy
viii. General counseling to patients- bowel, bladder, skin and importance of Vocational Training)
ix. Counseling on disability right and sexuality after SCI
x. Assist and participate on patients’ and caregivers’ psychological group counseling conducted by psychologist
xi. Report and share the patients details to psychologist
xii. Conduct and participate in patients’ education (about disability, sexuality, vocational training) class
xiii. Get involved in Multi Disciplinary Team
Job Specification:
1.The applicant must be gone through Spinal Cord Injury
2.Minimum 12 pass in any stream
3.Candidates related to medical field like nursing, medical doctor will be given more preferences.
