Job Description

Position: Overseer

Placement: District Project Office at Rasuwa

Number of Required Personnel: 4 

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct technical assessments for housing, irrigation and WASH related infrastructures
  • Ensure shelter, irrigation and WASH infrastructures are constructed with government approved guidelines and standards
  • Provide continuous feedback to local technical persons on shelter, irrigation and WASH construction
  • Plan, communicate, supervise and monitor all construction related works
  • Perform detail feasibilities and surveying works and prepare design reports
  • Verify the quality and quantities of materials transported to the field
  • Maintain the measurement records of the scheme in detail
  • Orient the community members of the project sites and help them mobilize their efforts and resources by sensitizing and guiding them
  • Ensure beneficiaries are consulted and their views taken into account at all stages of the program
  • Ensure construction works are in line with approved design, BOQ and Specifications
  • Support field coordinator in preparation of technical and periodic report
  • Have sound knowledge of computer skills and design software (AUTOCAD)
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualification and Experience: Sub- Overseer or Overseer level degree in civil engineering from a recognized institute with minimum 1 year of work experience in shelter or house construction, preferably with NGO

Organization Summary

BATAS Foundation is a non-profit and non-governmental organization established in 2008 with the aim of building a just community of skilled and self-motivated individuals. Currently, the Foundation has been working in Nuwakot, Sindhupalchok and Rasuwa districts for relief, recovery and reconstruction activities.

 

Initiated as a Corporate Social Responsibility of BATAS Organisation, BATAS Foundation is an autonomous NGO. However the Foundation still enjoys many forms of technical and financial support from the company when needed.
