The Role Office Clerk
FTGU is seeking an experienced office clerk to oversee the day to day running of the FTGU headquarters which is based in Sankhu. This role will require a sound understanding of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel as well as G-Mail and G-Suite.
The role will include managing the daily running of the office, administrative tasks such as maintaining an efficient filing system and managing company expenses.
The role will require a high level of organisation, the ability to multi-task and to meet deadlines.
The office clerk will report to the managing director and the operations manager and effective communication will be absolutely key in this role.
The role will involve but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities
Greeting visitors to the office, the office clerk will be the “face” of FTGU!
Maintaining a clean and professional office environment
Answering the phone in a professional manner and recording messages as needed
Keeping staff files up to date and ensuring all the correct paperwork is present especially with new-starts
Coordinating times of meetings and inputting these into the G-Calender
Typing of meeting agendas and minutes
Responding to company emails in a timely and professional manner
Monthly stocktake of the office, volunteer house and FTGU projects
Maintaining electronic and hard copy filing systems including invoices, expenses and time sheets.
Following company procedures and implementing new procedures when needed
Communicating effectively with the whole FTGU team
About You
The skills and attributes we are looking for in the successful applicant:
At least 1 year’s experience in a similar role
Proven track record of exceptional organisation skills
Fluency in English speaking and writing
Ability to use one’s initiative
Ability to work on one’s own and to deal with problems as they arise
Positive attitude to work and life in general
Sunny disposition (remember, you will be the “face” of FTGU)
High level of attention to detail
High level of ICT skills
Ability to maintain outstanding level of accuracy in data entry
Ability to manage one’s time effectively
Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
Maintain high levels of confidentiality regarding all company matters
Be extremely honest and trustworthy

This is an office Job based in Sankhu primarily involving accounting, documenting and minor amounts of marketing preparation. It is a multiskilled person's job.

From the Ground Up was formed post 2015 April Earthquake in Nepal that claimed the lives of almost 9000 people. Young intellectual minds of both local and international origins joined together to form a construction collaborative. What initially started as a small venture to aid in some small way for the reconstruction process in Nepal eventuated into something Founder Nick Abraham would have never envisaged.

From initial grassroots origins of construction From the Ground Up was formed on the ground in Nepal. The concept of sustainable infrastructure development to better the safety and living standards of rural areas began to be implemented and the formation of an international team became necessary.

Through the expansion of the concept of From the Ground Up to an International level, establishing the centralized office in Sydney, NSW Australia, the vision was also able to develop. From the Ground Up is now not only an infrastructure provision organisation but it is also a Social Capitalist venture trying to provide as many sustainable paying jobs as possible through profitable enterprise.
Quite simply we invest in those areas with little to no education and give them a job in construction, teaching them quality processes and skills that will be internationally recognized. We give them the power to change their own life on their own terms.
