Job Description

Education: 

  • Completion of Master’s degree or PhD. in Peace and Conflict studies, International Development, Human Rights, Law or related fields.

Experience:

  • At least 10 years of experience for Master’s degree and 5 years for PhD, in development work related to conflict resolution, conflict prevention, peacebuilding or transitional issues.
  • At least 7 years of experience directly related to dialogue, leadership and social cohesion issues.
  • Demonstrated expertise in working with political parties, government officials, and/or civil society organization in Nepal or other transitional contexts.
  • Demonstrated expertise in conflict analysis and experience in applying such analysis to programmatic activities in Nepal or other transitional contexts.
  • Demonstrated understanding of conflict-sensitive approaches to development work.
  • Excellent understanding of Nepal’s peace process, and the political, social and economic aspects of peacebuilding and development efforts in Nepal.
  • Significant experience with the United Nations, multi-lateral, inter-governmental institutions, governmental or demonstrated capacity to work in complex institutional environments.
  • Significant experience as trainer and facilitator on mediation/dialogue.
  • Significant experience in the design and/or implementation of development programmes.
  • Exceptional analytical and strategic skills.

Language Requirements:   

  • Excellent oral and written proficiency in English and Nepali.
