Chemonics seeks long-term and short-term specialists for the anticipated five-year, USAID Nepal Public Financial Management Strengthening Program (PFMSP). We are seeking a professional development training specialist, a procurement specialist, a monitoring and evaluation specialist, a learning and knowledge management expert, an IT technical support and training specialist, a software applications specialist, an audit specialist, and a post-disaster reconstruction authority and public financial management advisor. The project aims to support building the capacity of targeted Nepalese government ministries and agencies to improve transparency and accountability of public financial management systems. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
Support the Nepalese government's capacity building priorities, which have been identified through extensive consultations between USAID, the Nepalese government and the donor community engaged in public financial management reform efforts​
Qualifications:
A master's degree in relevant field preferred
At least five years of experience on a USAID or similar donor-funded project preferred
Experience interacting with Nepali government agencies and the private sector
Understanding of public financial management system requirements of the Nepalese government at all levels
Understanding of tax administration, budget planning and monitoring, and non-tax revenue generation mechanisms in Nepal
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with a wide variety of partners
Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
Fluency in English required
