Programme Background
The Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC) was established in 1990 and mandated by the United Nations General Assembly resolution No. A/RES/45/181. To help meet the goal of ensuring improved sanitation and hygiene for all, the WSSCC has created the Global Sanitation Fund (GSF). The purpose of the Global Sanitation Fund is to support national efforts to help large number of poor people to attain sustainable access to sanitation and adopt good hygiene practices.
UN-HABITAT being the Executing Agency of GSF will focus on to achieve Open Defecation-Free (ODF) and build the capacity in selected VDCs, municipalities and districts to achieve the national 2017 sanitation target. Global Sanitation Fund works in line with the principles of Master Plan on Hygiene and Sanitation and within its mandated institutions. In this context the UN-Habitat seeks applications from qualified Nepalese citizens for the following position
