- analyse the current performance of enterprises from a business perspective to identify the gaps; - analyse the markets within which the enterprises operate including dynamics of current suppliers, consumer demand and potential demand, relevant retailers and competitors; - advise on the improvement of key business management skills not limited to sales and marketing, basic accounting/book keeping, communications; - advise using various tools such as financial analysis, etc. to enhance and improve the business; - enhance the capacity of the Coops key staff members in business development and organisational development; - Support the project team with implementation of the project; - Active participation in monitoring and evaluation of the programme is required |
Professional skills: - Experience of training and sharing learning with others; - Proven interpersonal skills; - Ability to work sensitively with people; - Ability and patience to adapt technical and practical knowledge to a low-tech context with significant constraints; Professional qualifications and experience: - Rich practical experience and technical qualification in small business-related discipline; - Experience of setting up and managing successful small businesses; - Experience of advising small businesses on how to improve their market share and profitability; - Experience of negotiating profitable deals with retailers, suppliers and business partners; - Experience of managing process within in an SME, particularly that support improved quality and profitability; - Experience of marketing and communication. Desirable - Experience of small business in a rural setting; - Demonstrative knowledge of agricultural/agro-business practices is an asset |
