CARE Nepal is an international humanitarian organization working in the country for the past 39 years. It currently works in 60 districts through various programs on issues relating to improving the lives of the poorest and most vulnerable populations through programs that work on the following themes: food security and climate change; emergency preparedness and DRR; migration and urbanization; sexual reproductive and maternal health; gender based violence; women and girls’ leadership. Marginalized Women and Adolescent Girls are our two primary impact groups. Core priorities include investment in the empowerment and leadership of women and girls, reaching hard to reach population, good governance and accountability, working in partnership and alliance with like-minded actors, and evidence-based advocacy.
CARE Nepal hereby invites applications from interested candidates for an internship based in Pokhara, Chitwan and Nepalgunj for Dalit Women in the field of Climate Change Adaptation, Disaster Risk Reduction, Governance and Gender Equality Social Inclusion for its USAID funded Hariyo Ban Program. The Program aims to reduce the vulnerability to climate change and reduce the threats to biodiversity in two priority landscape of Nepal-Terai Arc Landscape (TAL) and Chitwan-Annapurna Landscape (CHAL) since 2011. Hariyo Ban Program II is working in two core themes - biodiversity conservation, and climate change adaptation (CCA) with governance and gender equality for social Inclusion (GESI) as cross cuttings. The goal of Hariyo Ban II is increased ecological and community resilience in the Chitwan-Annapurna Landscape and the Terai Arc Landscape.
Purpose of the Assignment:
The purpose of this assignment is to provide opportunity to young Dalit Women in the country to learn and develop in the development sector with strong focus on Climate Change Adaptation, Disaster Risk Reduction, Governance and Gender Equality Social Inclusion.
Eligibility:
The internship program is open to Dalit Women interested to develop their professional career in the field of Climate Change Adaptation, Disaster Risk Reduction, Governance and GESI who have completed +2 or Bachelor or Master Program or enrolled in final year of Bachelor or Master level program - preferably in forestry, agriculture, environment and social science. No prior work experience is required.
