TRAIL-BASED TOURISM Development Project


Trail-based Tourism Development Project (TTDP) is a bilateral initiative between the Government of Nepal and the Government of Switzerland with main goal of "People in Koshi Province increase their income and contribute to conservation of culture with innovative and sustainable tourism offers". On Behalf of Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Helvetas Nepal provides technical assistance to the project. Helvetas Nepal invites applications from competent and committed Nepali Citizens for the following position:


Institutional/Federalism Coordinator -1


Job purpose: Responsible for development of constructive inter-governmental coordination concepts in line with the Constitution, institutional knowledge management and knowledge sharing, supporting in the formulation and endorsement of relevant policies, standards and guidelines for the trail-based tourism promotion at Province Government (PG) & Local Governments (LGs); institutional strengthening and capacity building of PMCU, LGS, TUCCs and other local stakeholders; and ensuring result-based planning and reporting. Required

Education and Experience: A master's degree in public administration, public policy, or political science and minimum of 10 years of practical experience in advising public administrations, executive authorities and implementing govenance development programmes/projects at the sub-national level in Nepal. Minimum 7 years of experience and successful track record in conceptual guidance and development of innovative good governance (transparency, accountability, participation and public finance management) policies, tools, methods and procedures at the sub-national level. Commitment towards gender equality, social inclusion, and poverty reduction is a must.

Duty station: PSU Biratnagar with 60% field visit to the project sites
Duration: Initially three years with a possibility of extension.
