To assist with the coordination of post-disaster recovery and reconstruction activities and ensure a simple, effective data management and reporting system is in place for the National Disaster Recovery Coordination Secretariat (NDRCS) within the AIN-TGDM and VSO Nepal by: • travelling to a prescribed selection of the 14 top priority earthquake affected districts to support District Disaster Relief Committees (DDRCs) and District Lead Support Agencies (DLSAs) in systematic collation of data on response activities • liaising between various national and district Government departments and between INGOs/NGOs in close coordination with local DLSA staff • providing information management training to district based Government and non-Government Information Management Officers (IMOs) against identified needs collating information on emergency response, rehabilitation and reconstruction projects across agencies, sectors and districts and enabling effective analysis and mapping of data • supporting the NDRCS Project Coordinator to share information and reports among all stakeholders to enable efficient post disaster recovery in earthquake affected districts. |
• Effective data management skills • Highly computer literate and confident with Excel, Word and PowerPoint • Experience of coordinating collection, collation, analysis and sharing of information among a large number of organisations • Experience training others in data management or relevant subject • Excellent people skills and the ability to work with Government officials and senior managers. • Fluency in written and spoken English and Nepali • Excellent negotiating skills |
Desirable: • Experience in mapping data through GIS software or equivalent |
