We are looking for an enthusiastic, well organised, proactive person who enjoys working with a range of people. You will be part of a small Impact and Learning Team, which is part of a wider, high performing Influence and Impact Directorate.
The Impact and Learning team was created to support Practical Action to both increase its impact as well as to gather evidence and learning about that impact.
In particular the position will also be working with the Change Ambition leads to carry out country and multi-country assessments along with in-depth evidence gathering to provide us information for internal learning as well as external influencing. And as part of the I&L team the position will play a major part in rolling out Practical Action’s new Programme Quality and Delivery Framework and supporting specific country offices and projects to use this.
This includes apply the latest good practice to programme level planning, project design, participatory M&E, applying learning and adaptive management approaches, as well as ensuring gender and inclusion are considered throughout.
The Advisor will be part of the Impact and Learning team and report to the Head of that team.
Critical to the success of the role will be the ability to be engage with a wide variety of staff across Practical Action at all levels as well as to provide practical capacity building to help staff apply good practice and learnings.
Travel to Practical Action country programmes will be required in this role. The role offers an amazing opportunity for someone interested in impact and programme quality as well as evidence gathering and someone who likes to work as part of a small team but with wide-reaching connections and impact.
About you
You are confident, well organised, and enthusiastic and like working as part of a team.
You will have strong practical experience and understanding of programme quality as well as evidence gathering on impact including assessments and the use of global indicators. At times, you may also be required to represent Practical Action externally.
You enjoy building relationships and communicating with a wide range of people, whether that is in writing or verbally. You are confident working with a range of different people, including staff and partners from different Practical Action country offices.
