Position 1: Good Governance Officer – 1 (based in Doti)
UMN works with wide range of partners including local NGOs, schools, cooperatives and government offices. UMN builds the capacity of civil society organisations and ensures their good governance. The main purpose of this position is to provide support and develop the capacities of local organisations and communities, especially for the benefit of the poorest people living in poverty, thereby contributing to Community Transformation.
Minimum qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies, Social Science or Management;
• At least 3 years’ working experience in good governance or capacity building with a variety of organisations (NGOs-Essential);
• Basic knowledge of advocacy, the governance system of Nepal and related laws and policies;
• Experience in social mobilisation, group mobilisation and community transformation;
• Training, facilitation, coaching, networking and presentation skills;
• Excellent interpersonal skills;
• Must be willing to work in remote areas of rural Nepal;
• Knowledge and skills in planning, budgeting, reporting and proposal writing;
• Communication and written skills (including computer skills) both in Nepali and English.
