Job Description
General knowledge and information management support:
- Providing technical assistance to the regional office and country offices in furnishing up-to-date, relevant data and evidence, and presenting and packaging it in a contextually appropriate way.
- Provide ongoing support with data analytics, visualization, infographics, simple designing of reports, concept notes, PPTs, strategies and frameworks produced by the gender section (both internal and external).
- Keeping an efficient filing system and organizing and maintaining the section’s knowledge repository, including SharePoint sites to ensure effective knowledge management.
- Assist gender section colleagues, including gender focal points in-country offices with documentation of best practices, case studies, human interest stories etc.
Organizing/supporting webinars and learning platforms:
- Continue running the quarterly community of practice knowledge-sharing sessions on adolescent girls programming and assist in organising various webinars and learning platforms (Gender and Health, HPV, harmful practices, care and support, gender in emergencies, etc.) throughout the consultancy period.
Reporting and Documentation support:
- Provide support for various gender portfolios (health and nutrition, immunization, including polio and HPV, Child marriage, gender in emergencies, GBV and digital programming) by developing and inputting in or taking the lead to develop result frameworks, strategies, background documents, PPTs, 2 pagers, monitoring tools, and reports.
Support capacity building and training activities:
- Assist colleagues from the sector to prepare for and participate in capacity building and training activities (online and offline) throughout the consultancy period.
Ad-Hoc requests:
- The consultant could be requested to perform other tasks as his/her line Manager may judge necessary within the scope of the consultancy objectives.
Job Specification
Education:
Master’s degree in knowledge management, Gender studies, international development, international affairs, or another relevant discipline.
Work Experience:
3 to 5 years of progressively responsible and relevant work experience and demonstrated understanding of knowledge management principles and a good understanding of gender issues in the region.
Experience:
- Demonstrated understanding of knowledge management principles and a good understanding of gender issues in the region.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and editing SharePoint sites, and PPTs, and presenting data in a clear, easily understandable way using either Excel, PowerBI, Tableau or other software.
- Demonstrated experience in documenting cases/experiences/lessons learned is required.
- Ability to link content development and engagement strategies that facilitate timely, useful delivery of information through knowledge platforms and activities.
- Experience working in South Asian contexts is desirable.
- Experience in developing and organizing online webinars/workshops would be an asset.
- Excellent facilitation, program/activity management, written and oral communication skills.
- Working experience within UNICEF or other UN entities would be an asset.
