GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE PROGRAMME OFFICER
In Nepal, Restless Development has been working in the youth and adolescents development sector since more than 25 years. It is the recipient of several international and national awards. It works in formal partnership with Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Restless Development Nepal has signed strategic partnership with UNICEF education to implement Zero Tolerance -GBV free in Schools in Nepal. The overall goal of programme is “to ensure that targeted schools are safe spaces free of all forms of gender based violence, where girls and boys are able to equitably learn and become empowered to protect themselves and counter harmful social norms and practices”. The program will leverage the ongoing work by establishing or strengthening connections between education and child protection actors to ensure that schools are free from gender-based violence in all its forms. Through training, advocacy and awareness activities, school actors will gain knowledge of child rights, understand the impact of GBV, including child marriage. Moreover, linkages between child protection actors in communities and schools will be established or strengthened to support learners and teachers to apply their knowledge and ensure they have the skills and resources to respond adequately when gender-based violence occurs.
