· This job involves the general check-in/check-out duties, attending to the phone, answering guest queries, coordinating with the housekeeping department, general security of the property and guests and to maintain a high level of customer service for all guests.
· The applicant will be provided with formal training in the hotel in order to familiarise with the hotel's operational standards and procedures.
· The receptionist is to receive reservations for accommodation and ensure that these reservations have been updated in the computer.
· Ensure a smooth and efficient checkin/out process, finalise guests' bills and issue receipts upon payment
· Perform cashier duties, perform opening and closing checks
· Perform general secretarial duties, such as preparing correspondence and attending to a switchboard (telephone).
· Ensure that the guests needs are attended to while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service.
· The applicant will work closely in a team and will be assisted by an operation manager.
1.Receive, direct and relay telephone messages and fax messages.
2.Pick up and deliver the mail.
3.Maintain the general filing system and file all correspondence.
4.Maintain an adequate inventory of office supplies.
5. Respond to public inquiries.
6.Assist in keeping the hotel reception area clean and tidy, at all times.
7.Deal with all enquiries in a professional and courteous manner, in person, on the telephone or via e-mail.
8.Administer all reservations, cancellations and no-shows, in line with company policy.
