Established in 1981, WaterAid is an international non-governmental organization focused on improving people’s access to safe water, improved hygiene and sanitation in developing countries. It works on the basis that water and sanitation are human rights, and are essential services vital for health, education and livelihoods. WaterAid has been working in Nepal since 1987. Our work in Nepal spans across 22 districts and 153 VDC, and is based on a programmatic approach to ensure service delivery and promote advocacy in the WASH sector. By 2014/15, WaterAid Nepal has reached 272,441 people with safe water and 372,924 people with sanitation in Nepal.
WaterAid Nepal is intended to a study on groundwater table depletion in northern belt of Siraha. In the course of the study, a team of consultants will review existing policies, reports and practices on groundwater depletion and collect hydrological data and other information with the application of qualitative methods in the field by focusing on participatory approach to find out the following objectives;
i) Rate of the water table depletion in northern belt of Siraha and its impact on poor and excluded people’s access to WASH
ii) Identify appropriate approach/model/technological/policy options for WASH to address the issue of water table depletion through community based actions and knowledge based best practices
Interested experienced individual consultant/firm is requested to submit an application letter, firm profile, registration certificate with PAN/VAT number, tax clearance/exemption certificate and other supporting documents highlighting expertise and competitiveness in the relevant area. Interested parties are requested to submit their proposals in a sealed envelope clearly marked as “EXPRESSION OF INTEREST for Study on water table depletion in Siraha district” no later than 1700 hrs March 02, 2016.
