Job Description
We are seeking District Coordinators for long term roles on a complex DFID-funded post-earthquake reconstruction programme in four Districts (Gorkha, Dhading, Nuwakot, Rasuwa). The programme aim is long-term positive change in the lives of people in earthquake-affected regions of Nepal.
The programme is due to commence in April 2017 for a 5 year duration and will work in four of the districts worst affected by the earthquake. It comprises five Output Areas:
The role of the District Coordinator is evolving as the changes resulting from decentralisation take effect, and will require a politically sensitive approach. The responsibilities will include coordination of activities between Output Areas at District and Municipality levels, and leading local-level planning and capacity-building. The three coordinators will be based in Gorkha, Dhading and Nuwakot and will have complementary skills in WASH, general infrastructure and social development. They will provide specialist expertise in one technical field as well as being able to work across disciplines with local authorities in their area of geographical responsibility. Ideally, they will be available to start from 16th October.
