.Position: Dietary Coordinator (1)
ABOUT THE POSITION
Duration of Employment 16 months contract with possibility of extension
Working nature Full-time assignment
Working hours 40 hours a week
Duty station District office in Kapilvastu with 70% field visit within district

Key responsibilities of the Dietary Co-ordinator are as follows:
Core technical functions
1. Overall management of the dietary data collection in all study clusters
2. Undertake day to day line management of field based DDAs and other relevant staff
3. Support CAPPT M&E manager in recruitment of related field based staff
4. Coordinate and liaise closely with local level government health officials, municipal officials,
ward chairs and other local leaders to facilitate the trial activities
5. Undertake finalization of dietary 24-hour recall tool and conduct pre-testing of the tool in
Kapilbastu by doing household interviews
6. To oversee data collection of any food items and common meals not currently captured in the
food composition table (FCT) and to priorities the food item list
7. Work in close collaboration with field assistant for recipe collection and updating food
composition table
8. To do the weighed records of meals or food items to calculate the average meal composition.
9. Conduct literature review to inform the nutrition related trial activities
10. Provide oversight and facilitate (when required) for all relevant local training activities required
to develop the performance capacity of the field team in the trial clusters
11. Undertake technical supervision of the DDAs to ensure timely completion of planned data
collection activities with high quality work and results
12. Monitor and document the progress of the DDAs with daily reports to CAPPT M&E Manager
in Kapilbastu and trial co-ordinator in HERDi central office team
13. Participate in monthly meetings with field based DDAs and CAPPT managers
14. Support the project team in undertaking performance monitoring and periodic appraisal of the
DDAs
15. Ensuring open communication channels all the emails, correspondences and action by the
staff is informed to the trail coordinator
16. Ensuring safety of the project staff in the field
17. Ensure the confidentiality of all collected data for the research purpose including other
sensitive data
18. Ensure proper documentation of project activities and reporting of all activities with sufficient
proof documents
19. Prepare regular reports (progress report, activity reports, etc.), with support from research
manager, intervention manager and surveillance manager, based on requirements of projects
20. Ensure an effective feedback mechanism is implemented within the team
21. Ensure internal communications through electronic and physical meetings with project core
teams to share progress and challenges
22. Undertake any other task as required by the organization
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE
Essential
Minimum bachelor’s degree in public health, nutrition, nursing or any health related subject
At least 2 years of demonstrable experience in;
working in implementation of nutrition related project and monitoring project activities.

Proven ability to analyze data sets and write comprehensive reports
Proven track record of timely and quality delivery
Fluent in spoken Awadhi
Fluent in spoken and written English and Nepali
Excellent computer skills and proficient in excel, word, outlook, and access.
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Desirable
Experience of working with government and development agencies
Sound knowledge of the health systems in Nepal and elsewhere
Proven ability of confidence and an ability to work well as a team member whilst demonstrating
a genuine appetite for personal learning
