Development Research Manager

This is a long-term and mid-level position based in Kathmandu Office of S.W. Nepal Pvt. Ltd /Deego Pvt. Ltd. in Maharajgunj. We are a Nepali consultancy firm working for more than 16 years in the development sector (www.swnepal.com.np).

Key qualifications

• Master’s Degree or equivalent in Social Sciences/Sociology, Development Studies or related field
• At least 5 years of experience in social research
• Extensive experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods, research design and familiarity with data analysis and software packages (e.g. SPSS, MS Excel)
• Strong spoken and written communication skillsin English
• Excellent report writing skills
• Ability to multi-task, monitor and supervise, and interact with a wide range of people
• Proactive, self-motivated, team player and extrovert in nature
• Proficient in MS Office package and exposure to statistical tools will be an added advantage

Duties/Responsibilities

• Execute/manage research or surveys (e.g. baseline/mid-line/end-line; household; perception etc.)
• Lead/manage designing of qualitative and quantitative tools (e.g. questionnaires/checklists/ formats)
• Prepare detailed work plan and field data collection plan
• Organize and facilitate orientation to field enumerators and pre-testing of tools
• Supervise, oversee and facilitate field data collection and compilation process
• Manage/coordinate/undertake data analysis, interpretation and reports preparation
• Liaise and interact with client and stakeholders
• Contribute to survey/research related proposals preparation
• Deliver presentations as needed
• Ensure quality and timely deliverables

Starting date: First week of November 2016

Remuneration: As per the qualifications and experience (negotiable)

Duty Station:Maharajgunj, Kathmandu
