Key responsibilities:
The position deputizes the Kathmandu based Shelter Team Leader in responding to shelter needs as part of CARE Nepal’s integrated Earthquake Emergency Response. The primary responsibilities for the position encompass contextualized contributions in the formulation of gender responsive shelter recovery and rehabilitation strategies. The incumbent is expected to occasionally attend national level cluster meetings and be a link with national government on national reconstruction planning. Through close collaboration with the Shelter Team Leader, the employee will support district teams in planning, implementation, progress monitoring and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Structural or civil engineer with a minimum of 7 years experience in construction with at least 2 years’ experience in humanitarian aid or development. Suitable qualification in Architecture, Planning, Structural or Civil Engineering. Experience can substitute for qualifications but not vice versa
