Nepal - Kathmandu | |
Bangalore, India | |
On April 25, 2015, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck central Nepal with devastating widespread damage and loss of life. According to the Government of Nepal (GON)’s Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA), over 9,000 people lost their lives and over 23,000 people sustained injuries from collapsed buildings and/or landslides. Over 1,227 health facilities were destroyed while an estimated 8,200 public schools were affected. USAID/Nepal has determined through discussions with the GON and other development partners that some of the greatest needs for reconstruction assistance are in the health and education sectors. CDM is currently seeking qualified Construction Quality Assurance (QA) Manager candidates to work for CDM Smith on an anticipated USAID opportunity to provide professional architecture and engineering services in support of earthquake reconstruction projects to be carried out under the USAID/Nepal Disaster Risk Reduction, Resilience, and Reconstruction (DR4) Office. USAID/Nepal will support the GON and earthquake-affected communities to plan, manage, and monitor reconstruction activities, while working with regional partners to strengthen disaster risk management institutions, policies, and systems. Job Responsibilities: The Construction QA Manager is primarily responsible for implementing the NCRP IDIQ Task Order Construction Contractor’s approved Quality Management Plan and supervising the performance of the construction contractor(s). This includes responsibility for managing in-house (NRES Contractor) or third party (subcontractor) quality assurance personnel and providing oversight and independent inspection and verification of construction contractor(s) quality control processes, and documentation of all construction activities. |
