Job Description

FHI 360, an international NGO, requests applications from the qualified individuals for working as shortterm and long-term consultants for an anticipated COVID-19 Emergency Response under Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) Nepal with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in coordination with Ministry of Health Population (MoHP). The period for this assignment is from May to October 2021 with possibility of extension. These positions are subject to approval of COVID-19 Emergency Response Plan and availability of funding. In addition to the specific qualifications and requirements outlined below in each position, prospective candidates in all positions should have ability to perform multiple tasks, and to work under pressure with additional time and efforts in emergency/crisis situation independently and proactively.

Position: Clinical/Lab Infection Prevention and Control/Biosafety and Security (IPC/BSS) Expert (hospital ICU/molecular lab) -2

  • Prepare/develop the orientation and training package.
  • Prepare the documents/guidelines on IPC/BSS related to COVID-19 response.
  • Prepare booklets/posters or educational materials to response COVID-19 for hospitals/lab Coordinate with stakeholders (GON, hospitals and other stakeholders supporting on COVID19 response)
  • Conduct supportive monitoring at sites and provide on-site coaching to sites/hospitals/labs to improve the IPC/BSS practices Conduct and facilitate trainings/orientation for different level of healthcare workers
  • Provide technical inputs/suggestions to the team to strengthen the IPC/BSS

Job Specification

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Masters or PhD or MD in microbiology/clinical science/lab science/molecular biology and experience of working/supporting on molecular lab/ICU or hospital/lab on IPC/BSS related activities.
  • Experience in working/supporting on BSS/IPC/health care waste management (HCWM)
  • Previous experience in preparing the IPC/BSS or related documents
  • Competent skill and knowledge on IPC/BSS
