Job Description
POSITION AND LOCATION:
Project Manager (Civil Engineer) - 1 No, Kathmandu based with frequent visits to Sindhupalchowk.
ORGANIZATION:
To reclaim, post 2015 earthquake infrastructure, The Tata Trusts, Mumbai along with its local Implementation Support Agency (ISA) "Sipradian Sahayata Sanstha," A Sipradian Initiative towards the Society, is undertaking a project in selective villages at Sindhupalchowk on Rehabilitation and Reconstruction.
To ensure effective field implementation, we are looking for a self-motivated and committed Civil engineer, who can join in for a commitment of a period of at least three years.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:
Masters' degree/Bachelor in Civil Engineering with at least 5-7 years hands on experiences in civil construction works.
Have sufficient experience in assessment and designing of community infrastructures like school building, water supply system, houses, toilets etc.
Committed to work in earthquake affected areas and live with the local community if necessary
Ability to build capacity of local technical staffs involved in project implementation
Good communication skills and strong ability to work independently
Having worked at community level and Knowledge on disaster risk reduction will be an advantage
Be willing to under-take regular site visits, supervisions work and extensive collaboration with local line department officials.
Ability to work as a member of a team and collaborate with external stakeholders like government, Donor agencies and ISA.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITY:
Review the technical designs and costing for new infrastructures designs prescribed by government agencies and provide recommendations considering the the post-earthquake environment.
Based on the pre-feasibility exercise designing Detailed Technical Report (DTR) of all villages as per proposal and Second party assessment, record keeping of all DTRs.
Developing a comprehensive Project Implementation Plan (PIP).
Developing Procurement Guideline and Plan, Schedule of Rate (SoR), as per market rate, and ensuring second/third party approval
Ensure planning designing, supervision, quality control and reporting of all the infrastructure supports
Monitor and supervision of construction works at all the stages till handover of the infrastructure.
Coordination with district stakeholders and line agencies specially DDC, DoE for and District Education Office (DEO)
Data analysis, writing reports and communicating periodical updates and submitting periodic reports to the Task Manager
Ensuring a proper Operation and Maintenance (O&M) plan is developed and communicated to village community
Salary will not be constraint for deserving candidates.
