Position Description
The role of Chief Accounting Officer involves leading accounting and legal functions of a growing multinational company. It offers candidate an opportunity to be an integral part of a global management team. The position incorporates two major undertakings, which can be broken down as follows:
Accounting and Reporting
Oversee worldwide accounting for all CloudFactory entities
Oversee internal control structure for CloudFactory globally
Very strong technical accounting skills, particularly in the following international standards:
Revenue recognition
Deferred compensation and stock option accounting
Foreign currency exchange
Preparation of consolidated financial statements (with multiple currencies and significant intercompany accounting transactions to be eliminated)
Oversee, mentor and grow the accounting team
Work closely with the senior management team to establish market growth rates, assumptions, financial targets, deliverables and the calendar for the strategic plan.
Identify trends and developments in competitive environments and present findings to senior management,
Assists with the review and preparation of the monthly operating reports,
Evaluate profit and cost efficiencies in various areas of the organization as needed,
Develop, maintain, assist and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial models as needed,
Other duties necessary to the efficient functioning of the Corporate Finance team.
Legal Affairs
Provide advice regarding all legal matters involving company operations and ensure corporate compliance in all operating jurisdictions.
Provide legal oversight to client contracting of Master BPO Services Agreements (MSA) and Statements of Work (SOW).
Assist in the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) process for countries where the company intends to expand - being able to counsel and advise on compliance with federal and state statutes and regulations of all countries.
Act as a resource on the research and interpretation of existing or proposed local, state, or country laws and regulations.
Coordinate with all Government and legal bodies to maintain healthy corporate relationship in the long run.
Provide legal representation, advice, and opinions in monitoring and resolving disputes that may lead to litigation.
Arrange and supervise outside attorneys who provide legal advice or representation in areas of special expertise or in litigation.
Maintain a current knowledge of legal issues of importance to the company through participation in continuing legal education and membership in appropriate bar and/or professional associations.
Direct operations in the Legal division, including supervising a team of legal officers located in multiple countries.
Requirements:
Integrity, dependability, loyalty and ability to collaborate with a team
Strong interpersonal skills
Extremely strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
At least 10 years of progressive experience in leading an accounting team
Significant experience using current accounting application
Analytical thinker; extensive spreadsheet skills
Prior experience in international transactions accounting.
Chartered Accountant or other comparable professional certification.
Related work experience in Hong Kong is highly desirable.
