The work schedule for this position is:
• Full Time (number of hours per week – e.g. 48 hours per week)
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION
Chauffeur (Guard) are responsible for operation and basic maintenance of Local Guard Force (LGF) vehicles for Mobile Patrol, personnel transportation, and general logistics. They also perform ordinary Guard services to safeguard U.S. Government property and/or personnel, and occasionally, while under supervision, perform duties assigned to the next higher level in the Guard Force. Employees in these positions shall drive vehicles and perform the simple security assignments within the Guard Force. Chauffeur (Guard) must be available to perform shift work in uniform 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year at any US Government facility or residence in the Kathmandu Valley, as assigned. Chauffeur (Guard) shall be on call, except when on annual leave.
General Requirements:
Qualifications and Evaluations
EDUCATION: Completion of primary school is required.
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two years of work experience as a driver is required. At least one year experience as a security guard in police, military, embassies or a commercial security services is required
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: Level II (Limited Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing English is required. Level III (Good Working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading Nepali language is required. English language ability will be tested.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The ability to exercise sound judgment in recognizing and acting on incidents, and the ability to work for prolonged periods of time outdoors in inclement weather in exposed or semi-exposed posts are required. A valid Nepali driver’s Class “B” license (Car, Jeep, Delivery Van) is required. Driving skills will be tested.
