Position:Career Counselor
Location:Surkhet, Nepal
Position Type:Part-time (paid)
The career counselor oversees all plans, programs, and opportunities for our older students. You will work with our Nepali staff to create and implement a career exploration and professional development program for students at theKopila Valley School. You will oversee scholarship opportunities, Plus 2 opportunities, and help students apply for bachelor's degrees, diploma courses, or certificate course through one-on-one counseling and group trainings. You will assist students from 8 class through 10 class in applying for scholarships, understanding career opportunities, and refining professional development skills.

You are self motivated, organized and approachable. You enjoy creating systems, keeping records and making sure students are well accounted for.

You enjoy working one on one with students. You will answer questions, offer advice and push students to find opportunities around them.

You are comfortable multi-tasking. You will plan leadership and workforce skill development classes including interviewing, resume writing, job, and school application processes and vocational class opportunities.

You understand that each student needs to find their own opportunity. You believe that everyone has their own passions and will work to find the best fit for each individual student.

You are positive, patient and a clear communicator who is comfortable working with both Kopila Valley Staff and the BlinkNow Staff in the United States.

You require little supervision and are flexible. The needs of our students change daily and you will need to meet each student where they are at, create programs and systems as you see fit and work independently to help our students succeed.

You are bilingual in Nepali and English.
