I) ABOUT SNV
SNV Netherlands Development Organization is a not-for-profit international development organization. SNV has been working in Nepal since 1980 and is active in Agriculture, Renewable Energy –and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene.
SNV Nepal requires a professional and experienced Nepali citizen for the Business Development Coordinator.
II) POSITION SUMMARY
The Business Development Coordinator coordinates SNV Nepal’s Business Development trajectory in accordance with the SNV Corporate strategy and internal BD policies. S/he takes a lead in developing marketable proposals fulfilling requirements of the solicitations in consultation with technical relevant staff, SNV Nepal’s management team as well as SNV’s Corporate and US offices. H/She develops and uses professional networks to fulfil the HR requirements for new proposals. The BD Coordinator acts as Communication Focal Point for SNV Nepal, produces and implements communication and marketing strategies geared towards developing new opportunities, contributing to an increased success ratio of proposal bidding. III) RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY
ï‚· Develop and implement Business Development Strategies for SNV in Nepal.
ï‚· Stay abreast of donor opportunities and coordinate the bidding decision process;
ï‚· Coordinate the proposal development process through: opportunity research, competitors’ and partners analysis, facilitate teaming agreements negotiation, kick-off meetings, concept proposal development and feedback cycle planning and monitoring, authoring non-technical content, editing content, consistency checks, ensuring donor-compliance, and budget development.
ï‚· Support the development and maintenance of systems and processes enabling to respond better to business opportunities.
ï‚· Support the establishment of project teams, identify recruitment requirements for staff and consultants and manage the recruitment process identifying suitable candidates for different positions, providing required information of the candidates, verification and signing-off various documents including final contract negotiation.
ï‚· Manage consultants, interns, and relevant personnel related to BD, HR, Communication, and Marketing.
ï‚· Produce and implement a communication/marketing strategy for SNV Nepal, geared towards developing new business opportunities, in addition to promoting SNV’s visibility and track record with clients, partners and stakeholders.
ï‚· Ensure the SNV Nepal websites are attractive and up-to-date with news articles, feature stories and multimedia production.
ï‚· Liaise with corporate communication team to profile Nepal programmes and act as Communication Focal Point for SNV Nepal including management of press and other media inquiries.
ï‚· Reports to the Country director of SNV Nepal and maintains a functional relationship with SNV’s global Business Development Unit in The Hague and SNV US office in Washington DC. As a member of CMT and advises to CD on the country performance and contributes to organisational decision making beyond Business Development.
IV) REQUIREMENTS
ï‚· Master’s degree, preferably an MBA, with a minimum of five years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
ï‚· Having a large network in Nepal within the development sector, government agencies, and private sector.
ï‚· Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
ï‚· Excellent command of English, both oral and written;
ï‚· Excellent computer skills and proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Working aptitude in graphic design and multimedia software’s is preferred.
ï‚·Aspiring for excellence in service delivery with strong people centred skills, and interpersonal skills, committed, proactive and dynamic.
This is a full time position based in SNV Nepal’s Kathmandu office and reports to the Country Director.
